The Costa Blanca has a coastline of more than 100 km...

		Here we would like to describe you some of the surrounding beaches... You will find the most diverse beaches within a few kilometres. Peaceful and remote creeks, small beaches easy to survey for families or wide beaches with modern infrastructure. No matter where you go, you can be sure of crystal water as well as unique coastal sceneries.

Benissa Cala Baladrar	500 m	Very peaceful and preserved natural creek with stones. Even in summer not overcrowded. Very good for snorkeling. In summer you can have cool drinks and snacks at a "Chiringuito". In winter you can lie in the troughs the water has washed into the rocks and sunbathe protected from the wind.
Moraira Cap Blanc	1.5 km	Very small beach with stones, not easy to find but therefore less frequented. Mainly frequented by residents for their daily swim (swim ladder).
Moraira Andrago (Algas)	2,0 km	Beach with rocks directly at "Algas" bar. Very nice view of Moraira. (large parking - swim ladder).
Moraira L´Ampolla	2.8 km	Moraira's main beach besides services as restaurant, tread boat rental, playground and life-guards offers the possibility to walk into the centre of Moraira.
Moraira Les Platgetes	2.5 km	Small beach of sand with parking. There are a few restaurants and bars across the road.
Benissa La Fustera	3 km	La Fustera is Benissa's main beach of sand and has been completely relayed out in 2005. Nice park with a "Chiringuito" where you can have cool drinks and snacks, playground... and a natural coast path that can be followed from the beach in both directions.
El Portet	5,0 km	The small bay of El Portet is situated marvelously protected behind Moraira. The color play of the water, the line of old fishing-houses and the view of the port are singular. Very well-liked also by families, because the sand beach is easy to survey and the water is shallow.
Benitachell Cumbre	7,0 km	Very extraordinary beach with stones, the access to which has been blasted out of the rocks specially for the residential area Cumbre del Sol. The beach is bizarre, the water turquoise blue. In summer a "Chiringuito" with deck-chair letting is installed. Very well-liked by divers. The back section of the sand beach is mainly frequented by nudists. Bathing shoes are advisable.
Calpe	10 km	Very lengthy sand beaches on both sides of the Peñon de Ifach. There is a few kilometres long promenade extending parallel to the beach with restaurants, bars and shops. For a time a small arts and crafts market is installed. The city centre is within short walking distance from the beach. The promenade is likewise popular with joggers or promenaders. One section of the beach is especially equipped for wheel chairs. red cross station, playgrounds, foot-showers, deck-chair letting, Jet-Ski rental.......

Javea de Ambol	18 km	Small but nice beach, partly with sand and gravel. Official nudist beach at about 15 minutes from Jávea by car. Follow the road to Balcon al mar and then the signs "Platja d'Ambolo", "naturista". Steep approach. You can walk down to the beach.

Granadella	25 km	A romantic little pass road through the nature reserve leads you to this bay. Gleaming in all tones of green and blue, with the white yachts riding at anchor at the liked berths certainly one of the bays of most scenical beauty. Translated the name "La Granadella" - al cel parlen d' ella, means : "even in heaven they are talking about her". Bathing shoes are advisable (beach with stones and gravel). Red Cross ward, bath attendant, deck-chair and sunshade letting, restaurants, "Chiringuito".

Village	km	Description
	7	Benissa is a wounderful village adjacent to the sea on one side and seperated from the interior by wild mountain ranges on the other. You can spend the day at one of the various beaches, some of which are preserved, or go on an excursion to the mountains (numerous possibilities for hiking and climbing). Benissa derivates from the Iberian and means „house at the hill“. A well preserved historical part forms the centre of Benissa. The municipality periodically offers guided tours where the interesting history of Benissa and its historical monuments are explained. The area around the village has always been cultivated and terraced in order to extend the arable land. The walls of the terraces have been laboriously built in natural bricks. Almond- trees, vines, olive trees and palm trees flourish here.
Everything Moraira. com	3,7	Teulada-Moraira consists of Teulada, which is situated at about 5 km inland, and the coastal village Moraira. Moraira certainly is one of the most contemplative villages of the Costa Blanca with its picturesque marina and the citadel „Castillo de Moraira“ dating from 18th century. Life takes place in the centre of Moraira where many good restaurants are found in the narrow lanes. The beach with fine sand is adjacent to the centre and a day at the beach can be easily combined with some shopping. The surrounding area of vineyards where the award-winning „Mistela“ is produced has its own patron, „San Vicente Ferrer“, who in a time of severe dryness in 15th century managed to reactivate a fount. The holy fount (Font Santa) still springs up to this day.
CALPE	10	A vivid village on the coast situated directly below the unofficial symbol of the Costa Blanca, the "Peñon de Ifach" (mountain of Ifach). Right at the shore the legendary mountain (300m) sharply rises up from the sea. The hiking trail to the mountain peak starts from after a tunnel. In Calpe you will find endless sandy beaches with a large number of bars and restaurants along the strongly urbanized coastal area as well as a very nice old part of the town where the church "de la Mare de Déu de les Neus" from 15th century and an ornithology musuem is. At the shore some of the royal baths that once have been carved into the rocks can still be seen.
DENIA	27	The formerly roman settlement is a nice port at the north of the Montgó to the name of which hunting godess "Diana" stood godmother. A castle from 16th century towers above the town and accommodates an archaeological museum. The seven beaches of the municipality (more than 16 kilometres) ask for a bathing vacation. Ferries to Ibiza and Mallorca start from the fishing port and marina at regular intervals. The centre bribes with many shops and boutiques as well as regular markets and flea markets.
JEVEA / XABIA	17	A coastal village south of the Montgó with international flair and a very good atmosphere. On the grounds of today's golf course the famous treasure of Jávea (gold and silver from the "ibero's" days) has been found in 1906. Jávea consists of the old part reaching down to the port and the more recently constructed "el Arenal", a wide promenade all round the main beach lined by restaurants, bars and stalls.
ALTEA	22	A cosmopolitan village with romantic narrow lanes and old town houses. The pictoresque centre on the hilltop with its inviting square is towered by the widely gleaming "Virgen de Consuelo" church. Due to the numerous galleries, much art and many handmade articles Altea enjoys the reputation of an artist village. Hemingway lived and worked here. In Summer the square is crowded with musicians and stands with handmade articles.
	17	Gata de Gorgos stands for for bound wicker and raffia. A cosy place full of contrasts and colours situated about 10 km inland and 78 m above sea level, widely surrounded by terraced plantations of fruit and vegetables. The cultivation of "Moscatel" grapes, of which a tasty liqueur (Mistela) and the famous raisins are obtained is traditional. The ceremonial production of the raisin is repeated every year since the age of the Mussulman's, who have been founders and first settlers of Gata. The custom has been to wrap the raisins up in vine leaves and sell them out of baskets made of white palm leaves - another representative element of the local craft that has been passed down. There are small workshops where wicker is bound, furniture shops, guitar manufacturers, and ceramicmakers: a wide range range of selected handmade products of palms, wicker and reed.
JALÓN / XALÓ	15	Jalón is situated further inland at the back of Benissa. The original village is famous for its landscape and wine cooperatives (most of them with wine tastes). Rustic bars like the "Halleluja" and the weekly flea market always attract many people.
BENIDROM	33	A really touristic town. Benidorm accommodates most of the tourists on the mainland and is well-known for its skyscrapers, well looked after beaches (of excellent quality), modern buildings and wide streets. You will find all kinds of activities like water sports, shopping, sightseeing or places to go out around the clock. Nights, that are lived as intensively as the days. However, Benidorm has lost most of the traditional appearance of the Spanish places on the coast, only a small but nice old part of the town has been preserved during the extension of Benidorm.
ALICANTE	78	Geographical centre of the Costa Blanca (white coast) and also provincial capital. The scenery of this city is dominated by the Moorish castle of "Santa Barbara". Fishing is a vital field of the economy. The "Explanada de Espanya", a famous and splendid promenade that has been built along the sea, is lined by palm trees. The cafés und ice-cream parlours in this vivid centre of Alicante are well attended. But also the old part of Alicante with its cathedral and the fortress are worth seeing. Lately numerous gigantic shopping centres, that would not leave any wish open have been constructed...
VALÈNCIA	118	Valencia, third largest city of Spain, is the economic and cultural centre of the province with the same name. The medieval church (13th century) is also said to be the homestead of the holy gral. Valencia's principal magnet of tourism are the ceremonies to celebrate the "Fallas" - the regional holidays in honours of saint Josef - which take place every year, always ending on 19 March. In few cities it is possible to see and experience the harmony of the old and the new like in Valencia. The remains of past, that go back to the year 138 before christ, exist next to innovative, avant-garde buildings on the threshold to the new millenium. From the remains of the roman forum founded by Junius Brutus, the origin of Valentia, at todays Plaza de la Virgen, to the city of arts and sciences, one of the more recent landmarks of Valencia, the history of this city embraces numerous eras. Nowadays Valencia is an important European city of congresses and fairs as well as a preferred meeting point for businessmen. In this cosmopolitan city a perfect infrastructure and diverse services are connected with a wide cultural and recreational offer . But also the mild temperatures of Valencia are inviting. The whole city breathes a mediterranean flair, that has also influenced its inhabitants who are open, cordial and hospitable.

Recreational Parks and Zoos

	35	The fun bath for all age groups opens its doors for 500.000 visitors per year. 14 millionen litres of water flow in this park. Aqualandia is situated directly next to Mundomar in Benidorm. The wild endless water chutes and the imaginatively arranged water attractions guarantee fun for the whole family! The most recent attractions, Europes highest water chutes „Big Bang“ and „Splash“ excel everything: an almost free fall from an altitude of 30 meters.
	35	A zoo with various demonstrations. The park accomodates many exotic and known animals and plants. The shows with parrots, seals, penguins and dolphins are very nice. On the imaginatively arranged way through the zoo you are accompanied by colourful parrots, snow white flamingos and other exotic birds.
	35	The recently opened leisure park (March 2005) « Terra Natura » accommodates about 200 animal as well as 160 tree and bush species on 320 000 square meters. The park devides into the four parts Pangea, Amerika, Asia and Europe. «Pangea» shows the visitor life in the surroundings of vulcanos. In «Amerika» you will find a jungle landscape, «Asien» offers a landscape of ficus, bamboo and caouchouk trees as well as for example Indian elephants and tigers. The European part is mainly presenting the mediterranean Southern Europe. A water park with sharks and skates is part of it. There shall be shows that correspond to each continent in all areas. Terra Natura can be reached by Shuttle-Bus from the centre of Benidorm in ten minutes.
	35	Visit the Terra Mitica leisure park in Benidorm. The over 1 million square meters park demonstrates the five most important cultures around the Mediterranean. There is information on "Egypt", "Greece", "Roma", “Iberia” und “the Isles” presented in an amusing way. The park offers attractions that are worth visiting for children and for adults. On the flight of Phönix courageous visitors live to see the free fall from an altitude of 54 meters. In the wooden switchback in the mediterranean area you rush along the steep rocks of the Sierra Cortina. For those who feel hot of so much adrenaline a tour over the Nil waterfalls might be good and you cannot avoid to get wet. There are also many offers for small children. Roundabouts, swings, boat trips and ice cream shops let the eyes shine.
	120	The city of arts and sciences. On an area of 350.000 square meters you find four main attractions: - Oceanogràfic - Hemisfèric - Museu de les Ciències Principe Felipe - Palau de les arts - In the course of the modernization Valencias the "City of arts and sciences" has been constructed in the drained bed of the river Turia (Ciutat de las Cièncias i Artes) - so sensational that it attracts the attention of Spain and the whole world. The "'Hemisfèric", a breathtaking building taking the form of a human eye where we can enjoy three audio-visual presentations on one giant screen: Planetarium, IMAXDOME and Laserium. The "Principe Felipe" museum of sciences, a new concept of museum where one can take part and experiment with present-day and future science and technology. The "Palau de les Arts", cornerstone of the performing arts. An innovative centre for the performing arts will soon present the finest in dance, opera and theatre. The "Oceanogràfic", an underwater voyage. An impressive water space of marine life where you can submerge yourself and discover the beauty and secrets of our planet's primary seas and oceans and gain a more complete understanding of the importance of preserving these delicate ecosystems. Nine thematic underwater habitats featuring awe-inspiring design, the latest technology and 42 million litres of water.
	45	Aitana Safari Park - a huge area located up in the mountains on which most animals can move freely. Two times a day you can follow the stuff with your own car on the feeding tour. With some luck you can stroke new born lions and Giraffes.
	30	Vergel Safari Park - big zoo, in parts only accessible by car, Lions and Tigers in total liberty. On the Safari you admire Libbards, jaguars, iberic wolves, primates and hundreds of animals moving in total liberty.
	120	Valencia's zoo is situated midst a marvellous garden and park. Orang Utas, tigers, lions, giraffes, gorgeous birds and other animals live there.

Diving is popular at the Costa Blanca. Almost every coastal town has one or more diving centers. In the various diving areas you find grottos, archs, cathedrals and steep rocks to a depth of 38 meters. The most sensational diving spot certainly is the Moraig, a mystical subsurface freshwater flow, with a huge and in parts still unexplored cave labyrinth.

You will come across a multitude of marine creatures as for example: crabs, crayfish, octopuses, squids, slugs, skates, barracudas, perches, mackerels, seabreams, ...

According to history books around calpe there is a submarine at a depth of approx 90 meters.
